What are the advantages and drawbacks of using a low VOC interior paint? - advantage interiors

low VOC content to breathe, less odor, easier if oil anyway. But the benefits or low VOC (temporal case) must be weighed again, if it's good enough is enough for immediate membership and a long life. Reduce VOC emissions from acrylic / resin can reduce the image quality.

Benjamin Moore has a new aura. VOC is not only low, which is better for the environment of the painting is better. has the process of pigment that you cover in 2 coats of paint and no primer requires re-invented. it is better use of pigmen Technolgy also save a lot better.

I hear it's working a little harder, because it dries quickly and does not recommend brushing more than anything else.

Low VOC paints have less odor during application and drying, and thus work more enjoyable. Moreover, even after drying, release less harmful chemicals in your living room.

I was working with Benjamin Moore paints OCE specifications and aura, and may not have the advantages and disadvantages of this include:

Eco Spec is thinner than normal latex paint. I like this because I think that the soft edges makes my shots and the work goes faster. However, when applied with a roller, should be particularly careful to avoid the application of large end of the roller and splashing. There must be a little more push the excess paint roller before putting it into the wall. Low viscosity is so bad, if you are a painter disease and tend to fly much. ECO is also necessary to remove the requirements of the first opening the box, because it separates us more than the normal color. However, there is no need to move more often, while I work, just a little when you start painting.

Aura is another line of low VOC paint, Benjamin Moore. The problem wITH these costs. It is almost twice as much money per gallon. However, it has the viscosity of an ordinary latex paint and does not need more than the normal color to push. A huge plus with aura is that it has a wider scope, ie you can only sometimes with a fresh coat of paint on the wall instead of two, possibly get the price difference.

Of the two tables still prefer the Spec ECO because it seemed less aromatic than the Aura (which felt more like a typical picture of me, but in a smaller room, which was probably not applied very well ventilated). I also like the lower viscosity. However, in a large room aura can still be the best chance, because hey, a shift is certainly less time than two!

Today, there is no real drawback to using low VOC paints, with the exception of the price. Product sold as low or zero VOC usually contain a high price.

If it sensitive to volatile organic compounds, then simply use a latex paint with a reputation for painting the inside and leave the room (s) to ventilate and dry. When I painted my house, I was surprised how little the level of painting with the smoke rolled steadily Behr Premium Home Despot. I painted a small room with low VOC and it is not much difference, except cost of a liter of low VOC more than one gallons regularly. Oil, however, is a completely different animal. If you must use oil paints, making use of them and the difference between the normal things is low VOC (Latex) enormous. The oils are more durable, but are open to toxic, takes forever to dry, clean, and require much more complicated.

ETA: just write a check FS Behr paint. Ordinary matter is only a few points above the standard low-VOC, while materials with low VOC content is just above zero VOC.
